Abstract

Pharmacogenomics makes it possible to identify the genetic variants that influence the way a
drug is metabolized, transported, and exerts its effect in the body. These insights can help
physicians customize drug dosing based on each patient's individual genetics. By applying
pharmacogenomics, serious side effects can be avoided, and drug efficacy improved, helping to
predict susceptibility to adverse drug reactions. Thus, allowing a more personalized and precise
medicine, avoiding adverse reactions and maximizing therapeutic efficacy.
